The Fund Accountant is responsible for maintaining comprehensive financial records for investment funds, including reconciling transactions, preparing financial statements, and compiling regulatory reports. This position plays a critical role in delivering reliable financial data that investors, regulators, and other stakeholders rely on to evaluate a fund’s performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for:
Pricing and/or verifying the Net Asset (NAV) of the Fund, posting, and reconciling daily financial transactions.
Performing reconciliations between the Fund`s accounting records and custodians/brokers or other financial institutions to ensure accuracy.
Tracking and accounting corporate events like stock splits, mergers, and acquisitions, and reflecting them appropriately in the Fund`s accounts.
Preparing periodic financial statements, reports, and schedules in accordance with IFRS and regulatory standards together, including the MFSA Annual Fund return.
Assisting with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and addressing auditor queries.
Compiling and submitting reports emanating from specific fund related regulations such as the AIFM Directive and ECB regulation (ECB/2024/17) on investment fund statistics.
In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Criteria
Previous proven work experience of one year in the financial services field and be in possession of a minimum of 4 O’ Levels at Grade 5 or C or better including English Language (other financial services related MQF Level 3 and 4 equivalent or higher educational paths may be considered)
OR
An MQF Level 6 bachelor’s degree in accounting or Banking & Finance
